What are the common faults and solutions of the auxiliary arm of the tire changer?

Oct 29, 2024

The common faults that the auxiliary arm of the tyre changer may encounter during the tire change process and their solutions are as follows:

The dismantling head of the tyre changer scrapes the rim/eats the tire:

The loose column causes the dismantling head to move: the column needs to be locked.

The rocker arm/sliding arm is loose, causing the dismantling head to move: adjust the rocker arm/sliding arm gap.

The large gap between the hexagonal rod causes the dismantling head to move: adjust the hexagonal rod gap.

The dismantling head is loose: lock the dismantling head of the tyre changer.

The plastic gasket of the dismantling head falls off: install the plastic gasket.

The gap between the dismantling head and the rim is too small: adjust the gap between the dismantling head and the rim to 2-4mm.

The clamping claw of the tyre changer does not clamp the rim tightly:

The clamping cylinder leaks/blow-by: check the air pipe joint/replace the sealing ring.

The rotary air distribution valve leaks/blow-by: check the air pipe joint/replace the sealing ring.

The position of the five-way is incorrect/leakage/blow-by: adjust the position of the five-way valve/replace the O-ring.

The air pressure of the oil mist device is too low: adjust the oil mist device pressure/check the air source pressure.

The four claws are not concentric/damaged: adjust the claw distance and eccentric bearing/replace the claws of the tyre changer.

The large cylinder is weak:

The large cylinder is leaking/blow-by: Check the air pipe joint of the tire dismantling machine/replace the sealing ring of the tyre changer.

The position of the five-way valve is incorrect/leakage/blow-by: adjust the position of the five-way valve/replace the O-ring.

The air pressure of the oil mist device is too low: adjust the oil mist device pressure/check the air source pressure of the tyre changer.

The air intake of the cylinder is slow: adjust the five-way valve foot limit screw.

The motor of the tire dismantling machine is weak or does not rotate:

The 220V motor starting capacitor is damaged: replace the capacitor.

The 380V power supply is out of phase: check the power supply phase.

The belt is loose: tighten the belt.

The switch is damaged or the wiring is wrong: check the switch wiring/replace the switch.

There is no power supply or the plug is not in good contact: check the power supply/replace the plug.

The hexagonal rod is not locked tightly:

The gap of the locking plate of the tire dismantling machine is large: adjust the gap of the locking plate.

The claws of the tyre changer cannot be opened or closed:

Check for air leakage, check whether the five-way valve core jumps out of the pedal fork. If the above is normal, check whether there is air leakage in the rotary air distribution valve. Remove the air pipe connecting the rotary air distribution valve to the small cylinder. When the pedal is not stepped on or fully stepped on, only one of the air pipes connecting the rotary air distribution valve to the small cylinder has air coming out. In any case, the phenomenon that the two air pipes do not discharge air at the same time is the air leakage of the rotary air distribution valve. If the above parts are all OK, check the mechanical part, whether the claw seat is deformed, stuck, whether the square turntable is stuck, and whether the square turntable pin falls off.

The above are some common faults that the auxiliary arm of the tyre changer may encounter during the disassembly and assembly process and the corresponding solutions. In actual operation, the tyre changer should be operated strictly in accordance with the instruction manual, and regular maintenance and inspection should be carried out to reduce the occurrence of faults.
