The working principle of an edge banding machine mainly includes the following steps:

1. **Pre-milling**: A milling cutter is used to initially process the edges of the board, removing burrs and uneven parts to prepare for edge banding.

2. **Gluing**: A gluing device evenly applies hot melt adhesive to the edges of the board.

3. **Edge banding**: Edge banding material (such as PVC, ABS, etc.) is pressed onto the adhesive-coated edges of the board.

4. **Front and back trimming**: The edge banding material is cut to align with the ends of the board.

5. **Rough and fine trimming**: Further trimming of the edge banding material is done to make it flush with the surface of the board.

6. **Edge tracking**: The four corners of the board are trimmed to make them smoother and more aesthetically pleasing.

7. **Scraping**: Excess adhesive and traces produced during the edge banding process are removed.

8. **Polishing**: The surface of the board after edge banding is polished to improve its gloss and aesthetics.

There are various types of edge banding machines, including manual, automatic, and intelligent edge banding machines. Manual edge banding machines require manual operation for most of the processes, resulting in lower production efficiency and quality. Automatic edge banding machines are comprehensive in function, capable of automatically completing multiple steps, reducing manual operation, and improving production efficiency and quality. Intelligent edge banding machines are currently the most advanced in terms of functionality, stability, and production efficiency, often used in highly automated production lines.
